Coral Compass (coralcompass.app) is a reef-keeping information site. This page explains what we collect and why.
Without an account
The free calculators run in your browser; we don't store what you type into them. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request data (like IP address) to deliver the site and block abuse. Affiliate links pass through a short redirect on our site that records the link, the page it was clicked from, the time, and the country reported by Cloudflare. It does not store IP addresses or set cookies. See the affiliate disclosure.
Waitlist
If you join a waitlist we store your email, the time, and which form you used. To limit spam we also briefly store the IP address of the signup. We only email you about the launch you signed up for.
Accounts and Pro
When accounts are open, signing in stores your email address and a hashed (one-way scrambled) copy of your one-time sign-in token and session. We set one strictly necessary cookie, cc_s, to keep you signed in (HttpOnly, secure, 30 days). We don't use passwords. Pro members' saved tank profiles, test results, and calculator history are stored in our database (Cloudflare D1) so you can see them on any device; you can delete entries at any time, and you can ask us to delete your whole account.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status so we know whether Pro is active. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the payment data it handles.
What we don't do
We don't sell or share your personal data, run third-party advertising trackers, or use your saved data for anything other than showing it to you.
Contact and deletion
To get a copy of your data or delete your account, email [email protected] from the address on your account.
